- Lack of access to clean water and sanitation.
- There is still a lack of access to nutritious food because it is considered expensive.
So what is the impact of stunting?
Stunting is a growth failure due to the accumulation of insufficient nutrients which lasts a long time from pregnancy to the age of 24 months. Therefore, this condition can affect the growth and development of the child as a whole.
The short-term impact of stunting is disruption of brain development, intelligence, disturbances in physical growth, and metabolic disorders.
Its long-term impact, stunting that is not handled properly as early as possible will reduce the cognitive abilities of the brain, weak immune system so that it is easy to get sick, and a high risk of the emergence of metabolic diseases such as obesity, heart disease, and vascular disease.
